Webcast Recordings

A symposium or conference is an expensive event. When costs are divided by the number of participants who attend in person, the cost per person receiving your information may not always be economically justifiable. The creation and distribution of materials from a conference is a very cost-effective means of leveraging the initial investment in the event itself.

At DGVC we can produce several very simple and cost-effective packages to capture and broadcast events for distribution by either CD or via websites.

We begin with the audio and/or video capture of the speaker with synchronization to the presentation graphics, i.e., slides. Our technician operates specialized capture hardware and a software interface that digitally records the speaker as an audio file, or both the audio and a video recording to the computer hard disk.

DGVC uses a sophisticated direct-to-digital recording system that eliminates the use of either audio or video tapes. It gives us a computer file directly from the meeting, saving both cost and time. Our technician then uses software to first synchronize the captured audio/video to the PowerPoint slides, and then create a media file that is ready to distribute.

The on-site recording of a program is usually a live conference.

Our full service package includes:

  • A second, dedicated technician for set-up and operation of all equipment
  • Computer workstation with digital capture boards for audio and video
  • Two Sony camcorders, backup hardware for audio and video signals
  • All cabling, set-up and strike labour.

There are many other formats for webcasts, including virtual presentations that you may learn more about at our Streaming Presentation Page.

Another application of the capturing of the proceedings is a link to a live web cast. If a high speed internet line is available, this web cast may be transmitted to our servers where it is available for viewing even while the event is still underway.

If requested, DGVC will produce a CD-ROM disk in the hours following a symposium, have the disk duplicated overnight, and delivered to the Exhibition booth the morning after a meeting. Now that's full service, for those who are at the event, and for those who want to receive the information during or afterwards.
